Haworth Tompkins have worked with Southwark Council and Guinness Trust to develop a site on Stead Street to provide sixty residential units and a new community facility. In order to minimise the impact of the development on the neighbours, the design seeks to avoid an impermeable terrace development, to ensure that a degree of visual and physical permeability and connections with the adjacent Nursery Road Park are retained. This leads to a development of three distinct blocks.
